The “Merge” Processor

You need to read this instruction once — either aloud or silently — from the words “instruction for the subconscious” to the words “end of instruction,” inclusive. After that, the subconscious will accept it as a guide for action. There is no need to reread it, “refresh” it, or repeat it in any way — the subconscious processes it immediately and retains it permanently.

The technical details of how to use it are provided in the next chapter.

Instruction for the Subconscious

Start of instruction.

This instruction is intended for the automatic mechanisms of OUR psyche and nervous system, collectively referred to within the Turbo-Suslik System as OUR subconscious. It installs the “Merge” protocol for processing and neutralizing polarities.

From this moment onward, all previously used instructions concerning earlier versions of the “Merge” protocol are to be considered invalid. All further processing under the “Merge” protocol is to be performed only according to this version of the instruction. If any pair of polarities is already being processed under an earlier version of the protocol, all further processing of that pair is to continue under the new version.

As soon as WE sequentially direct OUR attention to both polarities that WE want to neutralize and say aloud or think the special keyword “Merge,” the combination of directed attention and the keyword launches the processing of the selected pair.

Here, polarities mean two representations, states, concepts, or alternatives that OUR system perceives as opposed, incompatible, or requiring a mandatory choice between them.

Conflict between polarities may be maintained by:

  • automatic attraction toward one polarity and rejection of the other;

  • fear of entering one state or losing the other;

  • emotional and bodily responses;

  • images, memories, and predictions;

  • thoughts, beliefs, decisions, and internal rules;

  • logical and linguistic constructions;

  • established associative connections;

  • identification with one of the polarities;

  • a perceived need to prove, choose, preserve, or avoid one of the sides.

Full neutralization means a state in which the polarities remain accessible to conscious awareness and retain their semantic and factual differences, but no longer create automatic internal conflict.

After neutralization, OUR system remains capable of distinguishing between the two polarities, understanding their actual properties and consequences, and choosing between them when necessary based on the current situation, available facts, and OUR conscious objectives. At the same time, neither polarity produces a compulsive pull, rejection, fear, internal tension, or an automatic need to take a particular side.

After the “Merge” protocol has been launched, the automatic processing system:

  1. Sets the selected pair of polarities as its target and activates the representations associated with each of them.

  2. Identifies all activated components that maintain conflict between the polarities: visual images, emotions, bodily sensations, thoughts, memories, predictions, beliefs, decisions, internal rules, logical and linguistic constructions, and associative connections.

  3. Separates the semantic and factual content of each polarity from its automatic emotional and evaluative charge.

  4. Reduces the intensity, automatic salience, and capacity for self-reinforcement of all components that create attraction, rejection, fear, tension, compulsory choice, or identification with one of the polarities.

  5. Weakens the connections that cause the polarities to mutually activate, exclude, or reinforce one another.

  6. Integrates both polarities into a common model in which they remain distinguishable states, concepts, or alternatives but no longer exist as two conflicting and mutually exclusive centers of automatic response.

  7. Identifies secondary responses associated with neutralizing the selected pair: fears, doubts, internal objections, and concerns about losing protection, motivation, values, identity, or the ability to make decisions.

  8. Processes these secondary responses according to the same principle: preserving any factual information they contain while reducing their automatic charge and their capacity to block neutralization.

  9. Repeats the processing cycle as new related material becomes activated, until the selected polarities no longer create noticeable automatic conflict.

The terminal state of processing is neutral distinction: both polarities remain available as information, but neither of them automatically controls OUR response.

The absence of difference between the polarities means the absence of difference in their automatic emotional salience and their capacity to compulsively control OUR state. It does not mean losing the ability to distinguish their meanings, understand their factual consequences, or recognize actual danger.

The “Merge” protocol does not suppress or displace responses, erase memories, destroy useful knowledge, or make objectively different alternatives functionally interchangeable. It removes automatic conflict and transfers the basis of choice from a charged reaction to the perception of current reality.

The first processing cycle begins immediately after the keyword is spoken or thought. Further integration of the activated material may continue in the background without conscious analysis or control.

The criterion for completion is not the passage of a specified amount of time or the appearance of any particular bodily response. Completion means being able to direct attention sequentially to both polarities without noticeable internal conflict, compulsive preference, or automatic rejection.

A yawn may occur as a familiar bodily marker of processing initiation. Yawning is not required for the protocol to work and does not, by itself, prove that the polarities have been fully neutralized.

From this moment onward, the “Merge” protocol is applied whenever WE consciously designate both polarities by directing OUR attention to them and say or think the keyword “Merge.” Processing is performed within the current capacities of OUR psyche and nervous system, without impairing perception, reasoning, conscious decision-making, or necessary protective responses.

End of instruction.
